Integrating a Pixel-Based Camera System or an Energy-Based Optical Detection System into Your Project - CLOSED

Submit your application for subsidy and engineering support to integrate the following into your microfluidic chip, platform or other project:

  • A custom sub-miniature (typically 2 cubic centimeters) pixel-based camera system, consisting of a camera, optical components, and a light source; and/or

  • A custom energy-based optical detection system, consisting of a light source, wavelength filters, optical components, and a detection system.

Customization:

Through this competition, you can define system specifications according to your research needs. Your input will assist CMC to define and develop a pool of interchangeable, standardized fixtures and components, configurable to various applications.

Application Examples:

  • Cell counting via a miniaturized pixel-based camera (visible wavelength) system, integrated into a microfluidic platform.
  • Detection of fluorescence in a bioassay, via an energy-based detector (UV, visible or infrared wavelength) system.
  • A customized, small volume video capture system that would be a key component in a microfluidic system integrated with LabVIEW data capture and MATLAB analysis tools.

Application Deadline: January 10, 2010
