(such as the System-Level Prototyping Stations delivered
through the System-on-Chip Research Network) and the best foundries in the world for the manufacture of prototypes, enabling researchers to prove their concepts.
For researchers, the opportunity to fabricate a design validates theories, guides further work and raises the credibility of the research in publications. Prototypes are critical precursors to commercialization as proof-of-concept is required to move research to product.
