Troy Lavigne, Project Officer at the University of New Brunswick, uses the Rapid Prototype Platform provided by CMC Microsystems through the System-on-Chip Research Network.
CMC Microsystems brings complex design methodologies, intellectual property, computer systems, design software, and manufacturing technology environments to university laboratories. Graduate students and researchers depend on these resources to capture new ideas and develop microsystems designs to implement their concepts.

CMC negotiates licensing arrangements and subsidizes costs to provide access to:

  • Computer-aided design tools
  • Design flows or methodologies
  • Pre-designed or manufactured components or blocks (architecture, hardware and software) that can quickly provide specific functions that can be incorporated into microsystems prototypes
  • Lap-top workstations that incorporate flows or methodologies, platforms (comprised of architecture, intellectual property blocks, and methodology, used as a basis to create microsystems) and programmable microsystems technologies
